A shrimp aquaculture farm, which will be fully operational by 2018 is expected to reap an annual turnover of MYR 300 million in the near future.

Sunlight Inno Seafood Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong King Ti said, at present, the farm in Kam-pung Taka, here, produces only two tonnes of shrimp a year from its more than 1,000 ponds.

In 2013, the MYR 1.23 billion farm was undertaken as an Entry Point Project under the National Key Economic Area (NKEA) to help reduce poverty among locals here.

“We believe the output will increase over the next two or three years.
