The President of the Republic, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, took oath to Lieneke Maria Schol Calle in the position of Minister of Production, in a ceremony held yesterday. She replaces Pedro Olaechea, who returns to fulfill his role as Congressman of the Republic.

The new head of the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Lima and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Adolfo Ibáñez Management School in the United States.

Schol Calle previously directed the Digital Government Secretariat (SeGDi), a specialized technical body that reports to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM).

Schol developed extensive experience at Microsoft, where she was director of the public sector, director of marketing and business, and commercial director. She was also a consultant to the IDB - PC - ONGEI, and her main function was the implementation of online public services in the latter institution.
