From January to May, the total export of farming-fish in Weihai city, Shangdong province reached 300 tons, valued at 2.902 million U.S.dollars, won good appraisements from the clients of Japan and Korea.

With over 900 km of coastline, Weihai leads the province in the areas of fish farming, seafood processing, ship manufacturing and new energy development.

Last year, the total value in the fishery economy was 60.8 billion yuan with 2.08 million tons of aquatic products.

There are currently 936 seafood-processing enterprises in Weihai, 40 of which can reach an output value of 100 million yuan, with a total annual processing capacity of over 3 million tons.
