Fujian seafood export to see significant growth

The export of aquatic products reached 325,700 tons, worth USD 1315 million in Fujian in Jan to Nov 2009, growing 42.98% and 29.94% over the previous year, according to news released by Fujian Customs.The total export volue in 2009 is expected to exceed 1.4 billion US dollars.

Fujian focus on it's competitive products these years and now eel,shrimp,large yellow croaker,kelp,laver,squid,tilapia are the main export species.
 

Meanwhile,the opening of direct shipping links across the Taiwan Straits has facilitated Fujian's export of aquatic products,and the volume to Taiwan increase a lot these years. Fujian shipped 35563 tons seafood to Taiwan,worth USD 208 million  in Jan to Nov 2009.

In 2010,China further adjust the rebate rates of commodity export. About 50 commodities in seafood sector benifit from the adjustment,their rebate rate will be increased to 13-15%,such as the channel catfish,frozen mussel,abalone,sea cucumber and so on.It will accelerate seafood exports in some extend under current weak international market.
