Since January, snowstorm havoc in the province has brought negative consequences to local cultivation and fishing. Fish, poultry, vegetables and fruit has been badly affected, as has the supply to Guangzhou markets.

The long-lasting cold weather has brought rain and wind. Fishing has been worst affected, followed by stockbreeding and cultivation. Many fish, pigs and ducks have died as a result of the cold weather, but the domestic fish supply has remained stable. Vegetables however, have been in short supply with a corresponding price increase.

The Agriculture Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality has contributed over 2 million RMB towards recovery.
