Alaskan Seafood Presented in Cooking Contest

On January 30, 2008, the Guangzhou Western Food Association, Guangzhou Catering Association co-operated and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) China co-organized an Alaska Seafood Nutrition Seminar and Chef Contest Awarding Ceremony and Dinner Reception at Guangzhou White Swan Hotel.

During the activity, chefs from local hotels and catering schools competed with Alaska seafood. Huang Yong Jian from China Hotel took first prize, with a dish of delicate western cuisine using Alaska salmon.

Alaska seafood is popular in many upscale hotels and restaurants for its high quality and nutrition. It contains various microelements, which are essential to human health.

Nowadays, people pay more attention to healthy food. Alaska seafood is a good choice for gourmets and it is taking a lead in Chinese market.

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute China mainly focuses on conducting promotional activities in mainland China and Hong Kong. Chef forums aim to further promote Alaska seafood among chefs and consumers while helping them understand its special characteristics.
