As the most precious species of seafood, abalone is shifting its major role in high-end markets to the mid-range consumption, with its highly decreased price. At present, large amount of live abalone crowding seafood market has only got the selling price at 160 Yuan per kg, with 40 Yuan reduction to last year. The down trend is driven by the rich production from local farms and huge supply from South breeding regions, leading to the lowest market price historically.
