Based on the statistics, there are 787 aquatic product enterprises of Shandong registered in oversea system, taking up 31% of the total oversea-registered Chinese enterprises, among which there are 239 aquatic exporters registered with USA, 126 with EU, 36with South Korea and 19 with Brazil.

It has been said that Shandong has set up the criterion for the quality control on exported aquatic products in recent years. In the farming base of the exported products and live aquatic animals, the strict production criterion was set up to have the control on the product origination. As for the highly exporting products under the systematic supervision, process control has been carried out within the daily inspection and residual quarantine, which also took the great role as the vital reference for product risk analysis and release permit issuing.

Besides, based on the regulation and criterion of importing countries, Shandong administration organizations also help local aquatic product y enterprises with risk identification and reduction in exporting, to finally get hygiene registration within more and more importing countries.

Based on the statistics, the exports on aquatic products of Shandong province in 2006 was 1.086 million tons valued for 3.453 billion US dollars, respectively with increase at 13% and 22.3% to the last year. Its export value took up over 30% of the overall value from food &farm products in Shandong province and volume accounted for 37.3% of the whole China exports on aquatic products. There are 83 countries & territories as the main importers of Shandong aquatic products, among which Japan took up 38.1% of the overall exports, EU for 26.3% and USA for 17.6%.
