It has been reported that the daily sale on fishery products in ShangHai markets is over 4,000 tons during the Spring Festival, which is three times to the usual. With the increasing demand on medium- to high-grade products, the sales on gift parcel of branded products are going up at 2% increase.

In the Yantze Delta region, the consumption on medium- to high-grade products also greatly goes up within the whole Spring Festival. Driven by the rapidly increasing fishery demand in the peripheral area of Shanghai, more focus on the medium and high grade is coming out as well. The superior species such as frozen pomfret, large yellow croaker, shrimp meat, packed shrimp, further-processed products, imported lobster, Chinese mitten crab and turbot are more and more popular in the daily dishes.
