As the most famous fishery wholesale market in China, the XiaShan market of ZhenJiang has become the largest seafood holder and distributor, with its nationwide seafood trading ranging from the shrimp trading within the coastal cities such as GuangDong, GuangXi, Hainan and Southeast Asia regions to the other seafood business trading. With the covered area at 46,000㎡ and building area at 37,000㎡, the market can hold more than 700 booths for the varied aquatic products. Contributed from the trading extension to the leading cities of China and the Euro and Southeast Asia markets in recent years, the wholesale market is becoming the seafood logistic centre of South China. It has been reported that the annual trading volume on shrimp in this market took up two-third of the overall national output with the value over 8 billion Yuan, standing at the top within the whole domestic market. Therefore, as the largest shrimp trading place, the XiaShan wholesale market has been set as the shrimp business centre on breeding, processing and selling within the Zhujiang Delta regions such GuangDong, GuangXi and Hainan. |
