The well-known GIGAS Pacific Oyster and Kumamoto Oyster from US are being snapped out only after two days since its first appearance in China supermarket——Carrefour Bejing Stores. Thus, the urgent scarcity of stock is presented as a puzzle for the retailers.

The pacific oyster is kept fresh on its arrival in Beijing by the air freight less than 24 hours after landing. The average price of Pacific Oyster fetches RMB 68yuan on 300g/pc and the figure of Kumamoto Oyster is around RMB 31yuan on 80g/pc. At present, the weekly import volume of Carrefour on the US oyster is around 2000 pieces for the sales in two stores. The further exploration into six stores on those oysters has been scheduled.
