Zhang Xianliang, the dean of the Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences, declared on August 10 that, starting from 1989, China ranks first in total seafood output continuously for 20 years in the world, and so does the export volume of aquatic products since 2002.
At present, the total output of China’s cultured fishes has took 20% of the global production quantity, with the per capita share of seafood reaching approximately 37KG, which is the glabal average.
