In accordance with the actual conditons of marine fisheries resources, Hainan province has actively adjusted and optimized the structure of aquaculture, transited the development mode, enhanced the development of modern Fishing Program to promote Hainan’s marine fishing economy developing better and faster.

From January to May, the total output of aquatic products reached 0.174 million tons, rose 11.5% on that of the same period of last year. Including the marine aquaculture output increasing by 8% to 65,000 tons and freshwater aquaculture output rising 14% to 109,000 tons.

As for the modern Fishing Program, take grouper fish culture for instance, it has become in the mariculture a big luminescent spot in Hainan province this year. From January to May, the total output of groupers has reached 27,300 tons, with its proportion in the total output of the maritime harvest of 42%.
