| According to sources with the Oceanic and Fishery Bureau of Xiamen, the infrastructure construction of Fujian-Taiwan Fishing Harbor has passed the examination by relevant state administration. The harbor is built out of the former Xiamen Fujian-Taiwan shelter haven. Now, the blueprint for later construction has been worked out. Soon, the construction of the fishing harbor will be geared up to its full capacity.
With the approval of experts and related authorities, the fishing harbor has now made clear its functions, that is, the harbor will serve as one of the country’s largest trading centers for aquatic products. Also it functions as a platform for sharing cultivation and processing techniques for Fujian and Taiwan seafood industries as well as the logistic center for farm produce and aquatic products from across the Straits. So far, the 380- thousand-square-meter pool has completed construction and passed inspection by relevant state administration. And the building of the frozen warehouse with a containing capacity of 6100 tons is also drawing to the end. Its affiliated processing center will soon be completed.
Highlighting Fujian-Taiwan aquatic products exchange, the harbor will soon build other facilities like the docking pier and inspection building. A "green passage" will be set up for aquatic products from Taiwan. By Sept. this year, the 260-meter-long fishing dock and 51 thousand-square-meter trading center will start construction and is expected to be completed and put into use by next year. |
