Bare-footed fishermen take part in a mudfishing contest in Doumen district, Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong province, July 11, 2010. More than 50 adept fishermen and women showed their fishing skills during the competition. Catching mudfish is a deep-rooted folk custom in tidal flats of the city with a history of 240 years and was listed as a national intangible culture heritage this year. Fishing tools include a wooden board, mudfish cage, oyster-shaped fishing net and fish basket. It is often conducted when the average daytime temperature reaches around 25 degrees Celsius. The best time for catching mudfish is during low tide on the first day and after the 15th day of each lunar month. [Photo/Xinhua]
