Tibet bans on fishing in Lhasa River

Tibet is going to ban on fishing in the Lhasa River during the spawning season in order to protect and recover the number of wild fishes.

In recent years, the number of wild fishes in the Lhasa River is increasing, which attracts a great number of people to enjoy.

"I never expect there are so many fishes in this river. I thought it was just a drain," said Sonam from Lhoka who enjoying the fishes in the canal along the Sera Road on May 5.

According to Sonam, worker of the Administration of Lhalu Wetland, the fishes in the canal along the Sera Road "come from the wetland".
