In the past half year of 2007, there have been 4 squid jigging vessels organized by Daishan Pelagic Fishery Company in Zhejiang province and successively set off for the operation in North Pacific.

Based on the statistics of the overall performance, the favorable trend has been presented. Details speaking, the squid output of four vessels have reached 800 tons with the daily yield at 4-5 tons per vessel during the less two months (from end. May to end. July), and since July, there have been a sustainable figure increased to 5-7 tons, standing as the historic peak on the daily output per vessel. It also has been said that the sustainability of this favorable trend will be subject to a string of influencing factors such as the changeable climate and water temperature.

With the increased output on squid in threat of the price decreasing, many fishery companies have put the focus on their distribution channels, taking varied measurements on market targeting to ensure the sustainability of squid market price.
