In 2011, a variety of measures were taken to increase the export of aquatic products in Shandong province, facing up the current complicated international trade situation, exploiting new market continuously and aquatic products export hitting a new high again.

The total export volume of aquatic products reached 2.646 million tons, valued at 7.798 billion US dollars; it is up 14.5% and 24.5%, respectively. Including seafood importing for 1.443 million tons, valued at 2.897 billion US dollars, growing by 10.9% and 26.1%, respectively; seafood exporting for 1.203 million tons, valued at 4.887 billion US dollars, up 19.1% and 23.1% respectively.

In terms of the 4 major export markets of Shandong province, export amount to Japan, America and Europe increasing highly, Korean ranks second. And the aquatic products export to Japan is 0.357 million tons, totaled US$1.8 billion, up 23.9% and 28.1% respectively over the previous year; the seafood export volume to America reached 0.135 million tons, totaled US$0.63 billion, up 6.9% and 22.5% respectively; as for the Europe, the total aquatic products export volume reached 0.302 million tons, valued at US$1.22 billion, rising by 2.9% and 13.7% respectively. The total seafood export to Korea got 0.152 million tons, earning 0.43 US dollars, increasing by 10% and 4.1% respectively.
