| Ningde, in the east of Fujian, is a major fish farming center of the large yellow croakers in the country, accounting for over seventy percent of the country’s exports in the fish. To maintain the reputation of the quality fish farming, the city has taken new measures recently to ensure the production of large yellow croakers which meet the safety standard.
In recent days, Song Xiangguo, a fish farmer of Large Yellow Croakers, who is engaged in fish farming in Sanduao area, takes special care of the rafts.
Large yellow croakers is prone to attack by diseases from July and October.Fish farmers must be very careful to buy medicine for sick fish, because they share the same water there. He had a terrible experience in buying medicine. If wrong medicine was taken, the farmer might harm not only his own fish but also others’. So it is necessary to diagnose and cure the fish under the administration. Since July, Ningde Inspection authority and the seafood processing companies have jointly managed the fish rafts. The fish farmers formed a joint commission and signed safety production agreement with the enterprises. They put a record and give a detailed list of the medicine they use. Therefore, both the inspection authority and the enterprises can monitor the whole process of fish farming and sales as so to ensure the raising of safe large yellow croakers.
According to statistics, since July, over one thousand fish farmers have applied to the administration to be listed on the records. And the quality standard will be implemented. |
