China Shrimp Market Report - Aug.2007

By: INFOYU
Sep 15,2007

Market trends

Affected by the US block on China Shrimp exports, announced by FDA on 28th of June, and shortly before the coming rush season for shrimp supply, China export market came to the depression, resulting in the remarkably decreased price on shrimp particularly Penaeus Vannamei within the past two months (June and July), especially in Southern China markets.

Comparing to May, the price in June was continuously declined at a higher rate especially after the announcement from US about the prohibition on five species of China farming seafood. Suffering with the halt on purchase of Penaeus Vannamei by processors, many farmers have been landed into deep trouble.
