Report on Export &Import Trading of Aquatic Products in 2006

In 2006, there has been the sustainable steady increase on China export &import trading of aquatic products. For the details, the total export & import volume were 6.337 MT, valued for 13.66 billion US dollars, of which the exports were 3.015 MT valued for 9.36 billon US dollars, respectively with the increase of 17.4% and 18.7% to the last year, and the imports were 3.322 MT valued for 4.3 billon US dollars, respectively with the decrease of 9.2% and increase of 4.4% to the last year. Trade surplus were 5.06 billion US dollars, which was 1.63 billion US dollars increase to the last year. It has been reported that the export value on aquatic products (31.03 billion US dollars) taking percentage of 30.2% in the total exports on agriculture products, continuously stood at the top.
 
General situation:

1. Raw-material sourcing

In China, exports on self-produced aquatic products account for 63.2% of the total export volume and exports on the imported-material processed products account for 36.8%, which has been a sustainable proportion with last few years. As for the self-produced aquatic products, the export volume was 1.18 MT valued for 4.64 billion US dollars, respectively accounting for 39% and 49% of the total fishery exports. With regard to the differed species, the exports on the six major aquatic products were 0.85 MT, valued for 3.55 billion US dollars, respectively accounting for 73% and 76.6% within the total aquatic fishery exports.
